Lechner Watches came to life based on the idea of Balázs Kismarty-Lechner, who graduated from the Hungarian University of Art and Design (MOME) as a goldsmith as well as a graphic artist. He spent several years at different advertising agencies as Art Director and Creative Director – with much success-, but he also wished for a more autonomous creative process and creating more enduring values. He finds the heritage of family ancestors endows him with responsibility (Ödön Lechner was a world-renown pioneer of 19th century Hungarian Secessionist architecture). Kismarty-Lechner wishes to add to the values his ancestors created by his means. His watches, hand-made with outstanding care and based on automatic machinery, are all works of art. The heart of Lechner Watches is their tailor-made character and uniqueness. Every detail of a piece, its meticulous, fine workmanship evokes the era of the old manufacturers, while the style enriches the design with a modern twist.
